All oral presenters, including invited and key-note speakers, must submit a manuscript for publication. In absence of such a manuscript, the work can only be presented as a poster.  Author[s] of all accepted abstracts will be asked to submit their complete manuscripts before April 1, 2010.  Review of all manuscripts is contingent upon full payment of registration fee at the time of submission. 

 

Instructions to Authors

Manuscripts that are accepted for presentation at the IMAPS 2010 will be published in Acta Horticulturae.  They must be typed in English as indicated in the Instructions to Authors, which can be obtained from the ISHS website www.ISHS.org. Manuscripts should be written in English. However, authors are able to submit copy of manuscripts in Farsi, provided they include a one page extended abstract in English. All manuscripts must be submitted in electronic format together with a copy of receipt of full payment of all applied fees.



1.      Manuscript Submission

All verbal and poster symposium presentations are eligible for publication in the proceedings if a suitable manuscript is prepared and submitted on time to the Editorial Board.

All oral presenters, including invited and key-note speakers, must submit a manuscript for publication. In absence of such a manuscript, the work can only be presented as a poster. The manuscript should be submitted for initial review before March 1, 2010. Final drafts of the accepted manuscripts shall be received by March 21, 2010.  No late submission will be accepted.  Authors are encouraged to contact IMAP2010 in advance in all special circumstances when on-time submission may not be possible.


The ISHS claims traditional copyright protection of all material published in Acta Horticulturae, except where copyright is held by a third party such as a governmental agency and, upon request, permits fair scientific use as long as the author and ISHS are credited. The authors of an Acta article are entitled to make non-commercial use of the published article within the terms as described in the ‘SPARC Author’s Addendum to Publication Agreement’ (see www.ISHS.org under Authors Guide and www.arl.org/sparc/author/) if copyrighted material is used.

 


2.      Manuscript Length

Manuscripts should be as concise as possible in order to reduce to a minimum the number of pages,  the maximum number of pages is 10 for invited papers and 5 for submitted oral papers and papers resulting from poster presentations.

Only full manuscripts of reviews or contributed papers will be considered for publication. Papers reporting results of experiments normally include at least four sections: abstract; introduction; materials and methods; results and discussion. Other types of papers may have different formats. Abstracts or extended summaries will not be published.

 


3.      Criteria for Acceptance of Articles for Publication

 

a.      English language is understandable.

b.      Format fits ISHS guidelines.

c.      Paper represents a contribution to horticulture. It is either original or confirmatory.

d.      Information of data is correct.

e.      Data should be statistically analyzed where appropriate.

f.       Literature Cited should be appropriate

 

 


4.      Manuscript Reviewing

The first priority in the reviewing process is the rigor and clearness of the manuscripts. Manuscripts based on previous published articles by the author are acceptable.  Before acceptance all manuscripts should be evaluated by reviewers for scientific and technical merit and correctness of the language.  IMAPS 2010 will provide help to those participants with some difficulties to bring their papers up to a satisfactory standard.  The requesting authors will pay a fee for these services.
